Isaiah 54:17
What a mighty promise we have from the Lord and many of us repeat it over and over to affirm our faith in God's mighty promise to us and to reassure ourselves that nothing negative will prosper against us. We need to examine this verse more carefully so as to determine whether we are experiencing all that God meant for us. We note that this promise is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.

This promise is ours because we have been born again by the Spirit and the blood of Jesus. We have become servants of the living God when we invited Him into our lives and called Him Lord. His Lordship over our lives means that He has the right to tell us what to do and where to go. But do we truly allow Him to be Lord over our lives? Is He only Lord when we get into difficulty by not seeking His direction for our daily lives? Through our own doings, we usually miss His will and end up being kicked by the devil.

We note also that our righteousness is of the Lord. The Bible says that our own righteousness is as filthy rags before Him. We need to seek after righteousness of the Lord daily so that this promise will be manifested in our lives. We will only be fooling ourselves if we are not seeking to live in righteousness as His promise cannot work towards us if we do not. Our confession of this verse still will not cause the promise to work towards us if we are not serving the Lord in righteousness. The challenge is to serve Him and to seek after His righteousness for this verse to prosper in our lives. Will we do it today so that this promise becomes a reality in our daily lives?

Deuteronomy 20: 1-4
Jesus made a mighty promise to His people- I will never leave nor forsake you. In the passage in Deut 20, we note that the Lord told the children of Israel that they should not fear when the enemy seems to be overwhelming them by their number. Today we need to take heed to this word as we are being confronted by many obstacles which block our pathway and impede our progress in the work that God has called us to do. We too easily forget that we are in the service of the Most High God, the ALL POWERFUL ONE and we retreat from the enemy.

Today God is saying to you - do not be afraid of them because He is greater than what we see or imagine. As the battle lines are drawn, we need to hear what God is saying as represented by the priest speaking to the people. He can do this directly via Holy Spirit or via His servants - the prophets. We need to keep our ear attentive to His voice and test every spirit lest we mistake the deceptive voice of the enemy to be the voice of God or the voice of reason and make the incorrect move or action. Too many Godly friends have become the voice of the enemy unknowingly and we accept what they say without testing their words. Do their words match up with God's declared will for you?

God reassures us that He will go with us to fight against the enemy and He will save us. We must go and face the enemy as He will not go to fight the enemy without us. What more do we want? Faithful is He who has promised and He will not let any of His promises fail to materialise. He said specifically that He will save us. What will He save us from? He will save us from defeat and being destroyed by the enemy. This means that we will be victorious once we go and face the enemy with Him. Live for Him today and He will never leave you. In this knowledge, you can face every obstacle and see it fall before you as He will clear the path when you move along it. The path will not be cleared if you sit back and wait for it to be cleared. Do you know that He is with you? If you do, then face the enemy and he will flee from you in Jesus Name!

1 Samuel 23:1-5
How many times has God told us to something that we hesitate and enquire to ensure that it was Him who has directed us, as we are harassed by a spirit of fear. David's men echoed such sentiments. How can we go and face the enemy when we fear them from afar off? In the New Testament, Jesus made us a mighty promise- I will never leave you nor forsake you. So when He directs us to do a particular activity, He will be with us but the enemy of our soul always seems to get us to doubt the promise and we fail to do what God has said to us.

We end up disobeying God and we do nothing. Does the New Year seem daunting to you? The past year was a struggle and you were relieved that it came to an end. Your hope is that the challenges of the past year will go away by the change of the calendar and everything will become new. But the same devil that intimidated you last year intends to keep you in the place of doubt and disobedience so that you will be very frustrated early in the New Year. The New Year which you thought held such promise will soon fade into total disappointment.

In this time, we need to believe that the God that we serve is faithful to keep His promises to us. We need to be faithful to Him as He is faithful to us. Our obedience to His command will be the testimony of our faith in Him. Like David and his men, we need to arise and move out of the place we are in and face the enemy. God will do for us exactly as He did for David. He will deliver the enemy into our hands and we will spoil them. We will not just rout them, we will also come away with much spoil. Let us begin to demonstrate our faith in our unchanging God and see what He will do for us in every challenge that confronts us in 2007.

Ezekiel 37:1-13
Do you have unfulfilled dreams which now seem hopeless to you now that 2006 is finished? They can be likened to the dry bones in the valley. But did God put into your heart those dreams? If they are from Him, then the prescription in Eze 37:1-13 needs to be applied to the situation. The first thing that we need to be is full of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of the Lord moved Ezekiel and for Him to move us into position, we need to be filled with Him.

The second thing that we need to do is to listen to Him and say what He is saying. It does not matter that your dreams are very dry, it matters what you say and belief in His word. Having said what He is speaking, we need to be expectant that He will move. As we begin to see things changed, we need to keep listening and having faith in Him as we may not know whether He has finished.

Whatever He says to do , do it as He is using you to accomplish His purposes. Ezekiel obeyed God until vs 10 not knowing what God was doing. His obedience brought about a resurrection of the house of Israel. God is waiting on you to allow Him to move you into position and to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Then He will put His word in your mouth so that your hopeless situations will brought back to life. Are you ready for a miracle? He is always ready to show Himself with signs and wonders. The question is- are you ready to do what is necessary to have that miracle?

Romans 10:17
At the threshold of the New Year, the Spirit of the Lord is saying that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord will bring us through every temptation, every attack and every type of bondage in our life in 2007. So how do we keep our faith strong and growing? By hearing the word of God. This means that we should be in the house of God, where God has planted us, every time the doors are opened. We must be thirsting for the water of life that flows out from His throne.

We need to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness so that we will not be found wanting, leaving doors open in our lives for the devil to have access as he pleases. We need to put away pettiness and hurts and forget the things of the past so that we may seek His glory. We need to forgive those who have harmed us that we may be healed. We cannot continue in this time operating in the old anointing. We need to rekindle the flame of God in our lives so that we will not be lukewarm. We need to be on fire for Him as we allow His fire to move through us in cleansing power consuming all that is not of Him.

In 2007, we need more than ever to present our bodies living sacrifices to Him, holy and acceptable unto Him which is but our reasonable service. Our energies should be used to stir up our zeal to worship Him. We will no longer be able to get away with half hearted service. The fear of God should be allowed to affect every area of our lives so that we will reverence Him with the respect that is due to the only true and living God. What will be our response to this cry of the Holy Spirit? Our response will determine if we will fulfil His call upon us in this season. It will not be His fault but ours.
