John 9:4Jesus was always conscious of the reason why He was on earth - to work the works of Him that sent Him. We too have been called to work the works of Him who has called us and commissioned us to go in His name. He also proceeded to enumerate the works that we must do. He ensured that we did not have any doubts as to what we should do. In spite of this list of activities we are to pursue, there are many debates as to what we believe we should do and what our doctrines will allow us to do.
Does it cross our minds at any time what God thinks of our doctrines which stop us from obeying His words to us? How He must sigh and look upon us longing for us to cry out to Him for understanding and wisdom. How much He is trying to get our attention to point out the way that we ought to go, because He sees us going around in circles not accomplishing His commands. In fact He said that we shall do greater works than what He did on earth. Are we anywhere near doing what He did on the earth as yet? When are we going to move into the 'greater works' category?
Sad to say, God is not interested in our take of His gospel. He is concerned whether we are obedient to it for ourselves and whether we are showing others who believe and those who do not believe, how to be obedient. Jesus was the example that God the Father held up before us to show what He was like. He expects us to do the same. What does the world around us think of Him when they see us and our response to His word. When will we stop making excuses, repent and begin to move in obedience. He is calling out the true church. Are you one of them today?
